1. Acceptance of these terms
By creating an account or using LectureMate ("the app"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
You must be at least 13 years old to use LectureMate.
2. What LectureMate provides
LectureMate is a study assistant that helps you capture lectures (audio recordings and document scans), organize notes, and generate study materials such as summaries, flashcards and quizzes.
Study materials generated by the app — whether on-device or through a configured AI endpoint — are aids, not guarantees. Always verify generated content against your course materials. LectureMate is not a substitute for attending class or professional academic advice.
3. Your account and your data
In the default local ("demo") configuration, your account exists only on your device. Your password is stored locally in encoded form for sign-in purposes; it is not transmitted to any server. You are responsible for remembering it — because no server copy exists, forgotten local passwords cannot be recovered by us.
You retain full ownership of the notes, recordings, scans and other content you create in the app. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to record lectures and scan materials under your institution’s policies and applicable law.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use LectureMate to violate academic integrity policies, infringe copyright or other intellectual property rights, record individuals without consent where required by law, or attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer the app’s services.
5. Subscriptions and billing
LectureMate offers a free tier and paid Pro subscriptions (monthly and yearly). Prices are shown in the app before you subscribe.
Paid subscriptions are processed by Stripe and auto-renew at the end of each billing period until cancelled. You can cancel at any time through the Stripe checkout/customer portal link provided during purchase; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period and Pro features remain available until then.
Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable for partial periods. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us at
[email protected] and we will work with you and Stripe to resolve it.
We may change subscription prices with at least 30 days’ notice before your next renewal.
6. Service availability
Core features work fully offline and depend only on your device. Features that rely on optional third-party services (cloud sync, AI generation, payment processing) may be unavailable from time to time; we are not liable for interruptions caused by those providers.
7. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LECTUREMATE AND ITS CONTRIBUTORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, GRADES, PROFITS OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE APP IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
8. Termination
You may stop using LectureMate at any time; clearing all data in Settings or deleting the app ends your use. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always available in the app, and material changes will be announced in the app’s update notes. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
